Organiser Mike Newing
Thanks Mike for another great year and ,of course, for 'our chips' !!
We are all very pleased you are back playing in your League.
Sadly we reduced our fixtures from 21 to 14 at the behest of the committee to help Team selection for Club Matches.
This league is too popular!! (must be the chips?)
. It will be in this format in 2020.
We finished off the season with a rearranged fixture under floodlights.
The match was previously postponed following the sudden death of our friend Martin Myland.
Congratulations to The Leopards Team on winning the league this year
Derek Phillips, John Sprouting, David Brown
They won by one point from Runners Up The Pumas
Mike Smart, Robin Lowis, Mike Fletcher
and one point further behind in third place The Tigers
(Martin Myland),Dave Peakall and Wilf Ainsworth
The Lions escaped being the strongest team in the league by a fine win on the last match against the Ocelots.
The Lynx carried that honour this year.
The League is a great social occassion and very competitive.
Just what bowls should be.
Here's to next year!

2017
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE JAGUARS FOR WINNING THE LEAGUE
David Brown,Nick Hansford, Rob Lacy
Matches Start at 1800
Each game consists of 16 ends
Dead ends count as played ends, with 2 shots penalty when on the last end.
Scoring – Win = 2 points; Draw = 1 point
Leads and twos are not permitted to visit the head until after they have each bowled.
If bad weather prevents a game from being completed then a game shall be considered played if 6 ends are achieved.
If games cannot be played then each team will receive 1 point plus 7 shots.
Substitutes – All players are responsible for arranging their own replacements during absence. First choice must be your opposite number from the resting team, followed by another player from the resting team, followed by one of the reserves or a WBC member . If no substitute can be found the game will be played two versus three.
System for two versus three:
In the team of three, the lead and two will play with 2 woods and the skip with 4 woods.
The team of two will play with 4 woods each.
The two skips will therefore compete on equal terms and all players will walk to the other end together.
The team of two will suffer a reduction of 20% of their score (rounded down).
To be ready for this eventuality , skips should bring 4 woods.
